Now that we have received His new life, in Christ . . . how do we live this new life . . . in our daily lives? Is it up to us to try really hard, on our own, to get it "right"? Can I just settle back and let God do it all in me? Here we explore the wonderful reality . . . we get to live our lives . . . choosing to live moment by moment . . . choice by choice . . . fully participating with God's Grace working in our lives. Paul uses the metaphor "taking off the garments of the old life (self effort) . . . putting on the garments of the new life (Christ working in me)"
The Christ Child was born into this world in a time very much like ours. Civil, Political unrest and people facing personal issues just like us. His coming made a difference that reaches us today . . . in a very personal way . . . giving peace . . . taking away our sins . . . our sorrows . . . the "marks" left by life and other people's "labels" on our lives . . . fall away in the "light" on Him and His love for us.
We have celebrated all the God has done in Christ . . . now we belong in His Family . . . we know who we are . . . His son . . . His daughter. We have good news for everyone . . . they belong too, and can join us in the family when they receive this great Love gift of what God has done in Christ!! Now what? Some more good news . . . we get to participate in what God is doing . . . and He "gifts" us . . . graces us to do so . . . He is still working . . . in us . . . making us more like Him . . . through us . . . building unity in our life . . . family . . . church. We are brought together . . . built together . . . reaching others in and with His Love as we participate . . . "gifted" and graced to do so.
