One year before Isaac is born, three visitors arrive. Their visit confirms, he and Sarah will have a son by next year. The conversation after the confirmation, and the events that transpired after, would "leave a Mark". Abraham's understanding of God's Mercy . . . God's Judgement . . . and the extent to which God will go to "rescue the perishing" even when they are essentially "blind" to the impact of the evil around them, is revealed in "real time."
Today we explore Christ as Savior . . . taking away the sin of the World; as Light . . . showing us the way forward, out of . . . and into . . . Immanuel . . . God living among us . . . God's Message to us and Messiah, our soon coming King. As the message comes to an end, you are welcome to share Communion as the congregation did this Sunday. Prepare a piece of bread or wafer and juice. Take the emblems as Calvin guides the Congregation . . . and Worship . . . remembering Jesus, who He is and what He has done for us.
