Over 500 years before Jesus came, the Prophet Zachariah was given a revelation of what God was doing to deal with the sin of a nation. It was not going to be solved by means of the law. God's plan was to "take away" . . . the wickedness . . . the sin of His people . . . the sins of the world. God has in Christ "taken away" our sin . . . we enter in by receiving . . . by entering into His finished work, in Christ.
Our ability to associate ourselves with Christ in church is not our biggest challenge. Sometimes our confession of faith is most needed around the "water cooler". Our faith in Christ is not always welcome . . . at work . . . in the neighborhood . . . friend and family settings . . . and in some places there is the risk of rejection and downright animosity. Peter was tested around the fire in the "public square". Our test may be around the "water cooler" . . . or the neighborhood . . . in the "public square of our life.
Sometimes the most difficult times of life can lead to life's greatest triumphs. The choice to surrender our rights or choose the difficult path is not our natural tendency. Jesus shows us how the surrender to His Father's way, led to a better life . . . for us all.
Life has it's share of struggles . . . with worry . . . fears . . . temptations . . . peer and society pressures . . . the list goes on. Paul tells us how to make our "stand"!!! He doesn't tell us learn how to make it on our own, with "self help" techniques and "try harder" motivation. He shows us how to "clothe" our life in the protection found in Christ . . . His truth . . . His salvation . . . His peace . . . His Faith . . . His Spirit . . . His Word in our mind . . . our spirit . . . and in our mouth . . . standing "in Christ".
